Gregory S. McNeal’s Bio & Archive

Gregory S. McNeal is a law professor at The Pennsylvania State University, Dickinson School of Law and an Academic Fellow with The Foundation for the Defense of Democracies.  His research focuses on national security law and policy, public administration, and international law. He has taught Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, and courses related to terrorism and national security in law schools and schools of public affairs.  A former Army officer, McNeal has advised the staff of congressional committees and members of both houses of Congress regarding counterterrorism law and policy issues, and helped to write counterterrorism legislation for members of the U.S. House of Representatives. He has provided legal research support to the Iraqi High Tribunal and was a consultant to the Department of Defense Office of Military Commissions.  He has appeared on talk radio and national television as an expert commentator on counterterrorism and international law.  His editorials have appeared in National Review Online, The Weekly Standard, The New York Times, The Washington Times, The Baltimore Sun and others.  He can be contacted through his personal blog here.
