Pakistani President Gen. Pervez Musharraf is reshuffling the top leadership of the Pakistani army ahead of the upcoming presidential elections, after which he will have to step down as army chief if re-elected, Press Trust of India reported Sept. 20. Changes include the director-general of military operations, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, vice chief of the army staff, the director-general of Inter-Services Intelligence, chief of the general staff, corps commander for 10 Corps, director-general of the Strategic Planning Division, and corps commanders of Karachi and Lahore, Pakistani daily The News reported Sept. 20.
